Simple Steps, Lasting Memories
Our Story
After my kids' mother and I divorced, I prioritized physical activity with my two daughters as a way to nurture connection while we navigated the new change in the family. We spent most of our days enjoying the sunshine and connecting in small moments while running, biking, swimming, and more. On one particular outing to the zoo, my oldest daughter said, "hey, we are the three flamingos!" as we walked by the flamingo exhibit. The name stuck. As an avid runner, my girls always accompanied me on my runs; first sitting in the running stroller as I pushed them, to then biking and riding their scooters alongside me. Those daily opportunities to talk and connect are invaluable to me, as I get to do something I love with the people I love the most.

The Stevennes Family
"Throughout my childhood, I spent a lot of time with my dad, on the baseball field. After my 4-year college baseball career had come to an end, I was seeking ways to stay close to both of my parents through activities where we could include my mom. My parents are both avid bike-riders, and when I came home to visit, they would ride bikes next to me while I ran. It was a great way to have conversations with my parents about my life and my coaching career, while spending quality time together that we would have lost if I had gone running on my own. My parents have always modeled healthy living by always being active. This is a "tradition" we have continued to do for over 24 years."
